Gunmen kill prominent female activist in Pakistan

Sabeen Mahmud, a prominent women’s rights activist in Pakistan, was shot by gunmen on a motorcycle, just hours after she held a forum on the country’s restive Baluchistan region, home to a long-running insurgency.


Pakistani rights activist Sabeen Mahmud, the director of The Second Floor (T2F) cafe which organises debates and art events, was attacked by unknown gunmen on the 24th of April after she left the Karachi venue in her car along with her mother. She died on her way to the hospital.
